About CounsellingCounselling is a therapeutic process where verbal communication is the tool to understand difficulties. It is very different from social interaction, advice or suggestion. Counsellor or psychotherapist can help people with dilemmas such as, anger, anxiety, depression, phobia, confusion, sleeplessness, eating problems or any other unresolved feelings. Longer term therapy can help people who are diagnosed with more serious mental health problems such as, schizophrenia, bipolar personality disorder, paranoia or acute anxiety, eating problem (bulimia, anorexic, obesity) where through therapeutic relationship a person can develop strength to make choices and see possiblities of change. It takes more time to work with such difficulties. I have an integrative approach which means that I am trained in various models of counselling and therapy. I work with existential issues where focus on choices and see the possibilities of change. I know sometimes past experiences are painful and it is difficult to forget the past. I work with past experiences as a learning tool to allow personal growth and freedom. I value diversity differences and aim to see similarities within human differences. I value people irrespective of race, gender, ethnicity, religious belief, social class or any other differences. I believe in the uniqueness of human existence and how one acts and reacts to situations in ones own particular way. |
